Topaz
Unknown Owner
A first-class miniature cluster of superbly developed Topaz crystals from the Erongo Mountains in Namibia. Gemmy crystals of delicate cornflower-blue Topaz measuring to 4.3 x 2.5 x 2.0 cm display excellent prism faces and complex terminations. Erongo Mountain lies between the capital, Windhoek, and the coastal town of Swakopmund. Erongo Mountain itself forms a complex topography of many smaller mountains within an overall circumference of 65 km and has become world-famous for its fabulous suite of pegmatite minerals. This magnificent group of Topaz crystals are attached to a neatly trimmed matrix of snow-white Albite feldspar showing subtle yet characteristic traits of the variety Cleavelandite. A top-notch specimen.
