A magnificent example of Siderite forming sharp, perfectly developed hexagonal platelets, typically 1 cm in diameter and of light biscuit tan with some preferentially tinged dusty-brick-red on unidirectional faces. Underlying these crystals is a bed of sub-2 mm rhombohedral Siderite crystals of similar colour covering a plate of iron-stained Quartz. At one end, a single milky-white Calcite crystal 2.5 cm long by up to 1.5 cm broad is built from stacked hexagonal crystals with naturally etched prism faces. An excellent display specimen of very finely crystallised Siderite.
