An excellent miniature of Amethyst Quartz crystals with a good depth of colour from Bansk' 'tiavnica (Schemnitz) in the Bansk' Bystrica Region of Slovakia. Translucent mauve crystals radiate out from a central core (visible in the base) to form a flat plate of perfectly terminated crystals, all of about 1 cm long, but tightly clustered. The occasional micro-cubic Pyrite crystal lurks amongst the Amethyst crystals along with more plentiful, small crystals of tan Dolomite and white Calcite.
