Metallic grey Tetrahedrite crystal to 2 cm, with an aesthetic metallic sheen are partly coated with a thin film of iridescent, golden-bronze micro-crystals of Chalcopyrite which also appear silky-satin in a play of light. Within these areas of Chalcopyrite are rich purple, blue and copper-coloured iridescence patches. From Zilla at Clausthal-Zellerfeld in Harz, Lower Saxony, Germany, this specimen has clearly been orientated a vertical orientation whilst in-situ, because a crystallised cream Calcite and tan Dolomite preferentially coat the Tetrahedrite faces in an aligned direction, adding greatly to the overall aesthetic. A few small areas of cleaved Galena are also present in this complex and most attractive specimen.
