Description

A beautiful miniature of orange-pink Inesite composed of crystalline botryoidal mounds, displaying radial, light pink cross sections to good advantage and around the edges, white crystallised areas of Calcite. The Inesite has developed over a micro-botryoidal layer of brown radial zones of Orlymanite from the N'Chwaning Mine's in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Inesite is a hydrous calcium manganese silicate and Orlymanite, a rare mineral almost identical in composition to Inesite but with the addition of iron and more hydroxyl ions.
