A beautiful specimen of Dioptase on Calcite from probably the most well known location for such specimens at the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. The Dioptase is seen as brilliant gemmy to translucent sharp crystals measuring to 0.5cm, many are double terminated. The colour of the Dioptase crystals is a fine blueish green pleasingly set against a matrix of white Calcite crystals. The Calcite crystals are very sharply formed with classic rhombohedral habit. The Calcite crystals measure to 0.8cm on edge, with some associated light yellow green Duftite. A pleasing array of Dioptase on Calcite from the Tsumeb.
