Description
Bright orange-tinged acidic yellow Wulfenite crystals measuring to 1 cm richly cover the display face of the white Calcite/Limestone matrix. Square, tabular-platy crystals with truncated corners form pseudo-octahedral prisms which graduate from rich lemon centres to translucent orange outer edges with a waxy lustre. The Me'ica region of Slovenia is an ancient mining district and is known to have in excess of 350 orebodies hosting lead-zinc ore deposits of Mississippi Valley Type (MVT) origin. This is a fine specimen from Me'ica in Slovenia, a region famous for its Wulfenite.
