Tucson, Arizona, USAAlthough the lead arsenate Mimetite was found throughout most of the deep Tsumeb mine, larger sized crystals such as this fine example were comparatively rare. Measuring 3.8 cm tall, the largest Mimetite crystal in this tight cluster piggybacks five distinctly similar yet smaller crystals around one half of the prism body, plus one stubby 1 cm crystal protruding outwards from its base. All crystals are translucent with their bases and some terminations of delicate lemon yellow, but with the majority of the prism bodies coloured jet black through finely disseminated inclusions of probable Galena.
