Tucson, Arizona, USAThe area surrounding Třebsko, a village 10 km southwest of Příbram, was a silver-uranium mining district and most attractive Goethite is a manifestation of the iron mineralization found in these mines. Covering a botryoidal, plate-like shell of milky white Calcite, the Goethite forms a velvet textured surface coating of rich chestnut to chocolate brown, highlighted light caramel. These lighter coloured highlights are the result of slight bruising on the crests of the botryoidal mounds. These, counter-intuitively, actually enhance the specimen's appearance and aesthetic. This small cabinet specimen (or large miniature) comes with the previous collector's label (Hans Engelbrecht).
