A very rare miniature of a gemmy, colourless twin Calcite crystal measuring to 3.4 x 3.4 x 2.2 cm, embedded on 1 cm tall scalenohedral Calcite crystals covering a burnt orange to red-brown Goethite matrix. No specific mine is known but it is from the West Cumberland Iron Ore Field in Cumbria. This specimen is ex. the collection of Patricia Greenbank (PG555). It is essential to emphasise one side edge of the twin is badly damaged, with the entire side missing, leaving a rough, hackly textured edge of Calcite. But the important feature is that the twin, most of which is perfect, still remains on its matrix; an extremely rare feature for west Cumbrian twinned Calcites.\n
