A lozenge-shaped cavity measuring 6 x 10 cm (maximum dimensions) in a matrix of massive Hematite, is lined with bright, highly reflective Specular Hematite (Specularite) crystals and occasional Quartz crystals. The largest Quartz crystal is 2.8 x 2.2 cm; all are double terminated and are a translucent colourless to pale smoky-grey. A typical combination of Hematite and Quartz from the now closed Florence mine, close to Egremont in Cumbria, England.
