Tucson, Arizona, USAPyromorphite from the hydrothermal lead-zinc deposit at Daoping mine in Gongcheng County of Guilin Prefecture, China has become a collector's favourite over the past fifteen to twenty years. This cute thumbnail, mounted on a bevelled colourless acrylic base, is composed of stacked hexagonal barrels of siskin-green Pyromorphite, each crystal being double terminated, with one end a flat pinacoid and the opposite, a bifurcated outbreak of narrower, acicular-type crystals. The barrels are all slightly curved, with finely striated prism faces and a satin lustre. A great little Pyromorphite from Daoping mine.
