Crystal ClassicsFeatured
Tucson, Arizona, USAWell-developed barrel-shaped crystals to 5 mm of burnt toffee-orange Mimetite, variety 'Campylite' from the classic locality of Dry Gill mine in the Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria. Masses of these crystals pervade a soot-black manganese oxide ('Psilomelane') matrix, against which they display to full advantage. A terrific example from this now inaccessible mine, high above Roughton Gill.
