Tucson, Arizona, USAThis colourless and part-gemmy cluster of Dolomite crystals is from near the Spanish village of Eugui, in Esteríbar, Navarre and although not recorded on the label is most likely from the Azkarate quarry which mines Magnesite. This miniature is composed of two intergrown rhombic Dolomite crystals, the larger measuring 4.2 cm across the diagonal. The Dolomite is colourless and transparent throughout, with many zones grading to gemmy. The crystals are not without a few dings and bruises, but these become lost amongst the many prism faces and associated modifications. The specimen comes with a Juan Montal (Espana) card label.
