Tucson, Arizona, USABlackdene mine is situated about halfway along the Weardale valley and lies just to the north of the village of Ireshopeburn. This superb specimen contains all that Blackdene mine is famous for; rich large crystals of purple Fluorite and complexly formed Galena crystals of burnished lead-grey. A cabinet sized specimen, the Fluorite forms as cubic crystals up to 3 cm on edge and the Galena as an approximately 6 x 4 cm single complex crystal, built from smaller intergrown cuboctahedrons with multiple-stepped faces and a concave centre. An excellent and most representative Fluorite and galena from Blackdene mine.
