COBALTOAN Calcite$12,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
The famous Wine stain Calcite, this very striking large cabinet piece is from a famous specimen producing silver mine in the ancient mining region of Saxony in Germany. The stained area varies in shade and intensity of colour, ranging between velvet cobalt red and rich cochineal. Placed amongst other fine minerals, your eye goes straight to this beautiful specimen. Such Cobaltoan calcites are post-mining deposits formed by cobalt ions being leached from primary cobalt ores in the vein, then deposited on the Calcite matrix. This is an outstanding example of Cobaltoan Calcite from Frohnau in the Erzgebirge District of Saxony.\n
