A thumbnail specimen of solid crystallised Native Gold from the Ro?ia Montan? gold deposits in Alba County, Romania. The specimen is seen to full advantage under magnification, preferably a x10 loupe or low power stereo microscope. One side of this flattish specimen is composed of vertically aligned ribs of crystalline Gold. The reverse side has an area of arborescent crystallised butter-yellow Gold forming intertwined branches. These cover an exquisite plate made up entirely of symmetrically aligned Gold tetrahedra with triangular faces. A stunning specimen with fascinating crystallography. The specimen weighs 2.8 g.
