A well formed single octahedral crystal of Cuprite mounted on an obelisk shaped pedestal, from the classic French location of Chessy-les-Mines. The Cuprite crystal measures 1.1 cm on edge with a light green Malachite coating. A small triangular crystal extension is present on one of the octahedral faces. Chessy is rightly world famous for its Cuprite and Azurite, and this is a lovely example of the former.
