Cassiterite
Although we only know this Cassiterite is from St Agnes and not a specific mine, for $120 it’s a steal with great coverage of mainly translucent, clove brown Cassiterite crystals This small cabinet specimen is typical of St Agnes with the mineralised surface of Cassiterite, terminated milky Quart crystals and occasional Topaz sitting on a hard, dark grey metamorphosed killas matrix also containing massive opaque white Quartz. The Cassiterite crystals average 3 to 5 mm and all have a bright and glassy lustre. The specimen comes with a ‘Minéralogie Sorbonne’ card label.
