This specimen is composed almost entirely of translucent light greyish-white Witherite crystals which form two main clusters of well developed, pagoda-like crystals. Witherite is a rare barium carbonate mineral found in the UK in only a small number of mines; this is from the Fallowfield mine at Acomb near Hexham, Northumberland, England. A very good example of Witherite with many well terminated crystals to around 2 cm long from Fallowfield mine.
