Description
An off-matrix, semi-transparent hexagonal Beryl crystal from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The crystal contains gemmy zones and is a most attractive delicate bluish-green with a bright glassy lustre. The prism, although approximately hexagonal in cross section, is of a more complex morphology with what can be described as a fortification profile. The prism faces vary between vertically striated and smooth and the termination is a characteristic flat pinacoid, pitted with meandering natural etch marks. A good Beryl crystal from Brazil that will display well.
