Gold on Quartz$7,500.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A superb display specimen of Native Gold forming a 2.7 x 2.4 cm leaf that juts out from a rectangular block of opaque milky Quartz. The actual mine has not been recorded, but it is known to be of Californian origin. The Gold is a rich buttery-yellow, indicating gold of high purity, as gold often forms a solid solution series between gold and silver. The Native Gold leaf is approximately 1 mm thick and has a micro-stippled texture giving it a silky metallic lustre rather than the typically polished lustre. When orientated to the horizontal, the Gold leaf is similar in shape to that of Australia and presents very well for display, especially in the vertical position. This is an excellent example of Native Gold from the historic gold-producing districts of California, USA.
