Aragonite var. Flos Ferri$650.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A captivating small cabinet specimen of snow-white Flos Ferri forming towering structures of interwoven rods, ram's horns and curved stems from the world-famous locality of Styrian Erzberg in Eisenerz, Austria. 'Eisenerz' translates to Ore Mountain, this locality being home to the largest deposit of Siderite in the world. Styrian Erzberg was the first location where the variety Flos Ferri was recognised and this specimen is a real beauty which will display wonderfully. The delicate coral-like structures attain a height of almost 6 cm above the crystalline Aragonite matrix, which forms a flat plate with a radial, fibrous structure. One part of the structure, close to the apex, forms curly pig-like tails which are quite exceptional. Please note this is a specimen which requires delicate handling because of the delicacy and complexity of the Flos Ferri, but without doubt a gorgeous example of this unusual habit of Aragonite.
