Calcite
Mildly pink-tinged multi-faced calcite crystals have clustered to form near-spherical crystalline balls over a matrix of mixed Calcite and pale green Chlorite. This most attractive small cabinet specimen is from the P?'bram District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic and is an excellent example of one of the many habits Calcite can adopt at this iconic locality. The individual Calcite crystals average 5 mm in diameter and display pentagonal faces with trigonal terminations. At the larger scale these form spherical clusters of 2 to 3 cm diameter. Under LWUV the calcite fluoresces a uniform candy pink with a warm hint of peach.
