Topaz
A charming miniature of a delicate lemon yellow Topaz crystal from the classic German locality of Schneckenstein Cliff in the Vogtland district of Saxony, Germany. This locality has been known for many centuries, where in the cliffs and outcrops throughout the surrounding forest, mild yellow Topaz crystals occur amongst Quartz crystals, a result of hydrothermal alteration by greisenization processes. A single, gemmy, nicely terminated light lemon wine Topaz crystal to 1.3 cm sits in a Quartz matrix and is surrounded by small colourless and milky Quartz crystals. A characteristic Topaz specimen from the historic Schneckenstein Cliff.
