Beautifully crystallised Calcite is probably the most widely recognised species from the West Cumbrian iron ore field. This terrific large thumbnail comprises of seven gemmy nail-head, colourless Calcite crystals with near-perfect terminations showing smooth micro-striated faces and interestingly etched prism faces. A true West Cumbrian classic from the world renowned Pallaflat mine; by the village of Bigrigg, just north of Egremont.
