Like a delicate coral, this snow-white Flos Ferri - the arborescent stalactitic variety of Aragonite - has an almost organic feel to it. Miniature in size, it has a wonderful form to it. This fascinating form of Aragonite has been known from Austria for centuries, but mainly from the ancient iron mine at Styrian Erzberg. This specimen is from the far less common Weißenbach District in Styria where the occurrences underground have been stripped bare. Ex Horst Wolle collection.
