A showy and most unusual specimen from the San Martin Mine of Zacatecas, Mexico. The lustrous, gray-purple, dogtooth calcite crystals form a well-shaped mound with the largest crystals at the top. The dogteeth are altered to and have a distinctive overgrowth of purple fluorite, which in turn, have a preferential secondary overgrowth of sparkly, tan calcite. The tan, secondary calcite has moderate orange fluorescence.
