A beautiful Calcite and Pyrite combination specimen from the San Francisco del Oro Mine in Mexico. Much of the piece is dominated by mounded, ivory colored aggregates of Calcite composed of 1cm disc-shaped crystals that are balanced and augmented by tight clusters of iridescent, metallic, complex Pyrite crystals that look almost rounded. Green, yellow and blue are the predominant iridescent colors. Three rounded Pyrite crystals are jauntily set on the contrasting Calcite. An attractive and well balanced piece from an uncommon Mexican locality. Ex. Gary Weaver collection. Super sparkly in person - see video!
