Stunning luster and unusually good display aesthetics make this a competitive quality thumbnail that stands above most others. A wonderful combo miniature, this matrix specimen features translucent, nearly colorless topaz crystals, to 1.5 cm in length, along with a superb, splendent, black bixbyite crystal, measuring 1.5 cm across, that is perched high on the matrix. This matrix perch really makes it stand out from the crowd of generally single crystals or less well displayed matrix specimens. It is an old specimen which I first owned, nearly 15 years ago, and came from the heyday finds of a group of Dalls investors at this remote site in the late 1990s.
