The rolling ball-shaped clusters of amber-yellow mimetite from this one-time locality are now legendary. Benny Fenn found them while prospecting in 1968 and showed up with one truckload at the 1969 Tucson show... and sold out in a few days. He started at $4 per pound, thinking he had a truckload and could go back for more. But, he never found more. By the early 1970s, small pieces that sold for $2-5 were already priced at $100. By the 1980s when I first started collecting, they were doubled again, and have kept going up ever since. Never repeated, they remain a unique find in the world and only turn up in old collections.
