This is an aesthetic cluster of glassy and gemmy, dark forest green ludlamite crystals, to 1 cm in length. At this level of shape, color, and translucency, these spectacular crystals of the species are generally considered to represent the species at its best for collectors, and came from a single important find in the mid 1980s. Only specimens from a few finds at a few locations come close in quality - and those are few and far between as well. Normally, they form either as tight groups or as isolated blocky single crystals (from any of those localities) and so this diverging spray that seems rather elegant, is a different style than we usually see, making for a very sculptural thumbnail specimen.
