Ettringite is a complex and highly hydrated calcium-aluminum sulfate and this lemon-yellow crystal is a very good compound crystal of the species from the Kalahari Manganese Field in South Africa. This Ettringite miniature consists of several VIVID lemon yellow, translucent individuals in parallel growth with all of the 5+ component crystals terminated on one end! The bottom of the piece is contacted. This parallel group shows good crystal form and superior luster! These bright yellow Ettringites are always an obvious standout in a display case.
