There has been much written in the mineral media about these famous Disco Ball Apophyllites from the single find of late 2001. Still, today, 20-plus years later, these are unique and unequalled in the mineral world. This specimen features a very beautiful cluster standing up from undulating matrix covered with blades of sparkling white stilbite. The central cluster is 6 x 6 cm, tip to tip, and approximately 4 cm tall above the stilbite. The overall effect is simply unique and more three-dimensional in person, raising these to among the most desired and expensive examples of the species. The video conveys the shape of this, but not the full impact.
