This small but stunning specimen is a rare survivor of something so delicate from famous finds of the early 1970s at this remote American mine, long closed and extinct except for those intrepid enough to find a dangerous way in through old entries. It is a superb miniature with the finest quality aurichalcite crystals in spiky rosettes to 1 cm, and they are just gorgeous at close look. For more on this mine, see the recent book IKONS for a story of collecting there in 1970 or so, by Wendell Wilson. A rare American classic and, also, considered by many to be the finest crystals of the species overall. Dr. Erika Pohl-Ströher - 27358
