A rare color! Vibrant green, glistening vesuvianite crystals are liberally scattered on this small cabinet piece from the Jeffrey mine in Quebec. Scores of 1 to 5 mm, medium to bright green stubby to elongate prismatic crystals of vesuvianite densely cover the front of this piece and sporadically on the back and bottom. An exceptionally attractive, dramatic and rare color for the species, probably due to a trace amount of chromium in the structure. Ex. Dr. Francesco Bedogne collection with label. circa 1980's.
