Description
Tsumeb is the king of mimetite, by all regards, and this is a rare style of robust, deeply colored crystal. Most mimetite from Tsumeb of size has flat (pinacoidal) terminations but these come to sharp points. It is a very, very special and notable competition-level thumbnail specimen of impeccable quality. It has the color and saturation of a legrandite, combined with luster like glass! From the former collection of Joseph Freilich (who assembled a second collection of fine miniatures and thumbnails in his later life, after a forced bankruptcy/liquidation sale of his famous collection of larger specimens in the early 2000s).
Known provenanceKnowing where your specimen comes from and who owned it adds to its story and value. Good provenance helps prove it's authentic and preserves important details about its discovery.
