A stunning intense yellow smithsonite, colored by cadmium we suppose, from a now famous find that actually happened around 2003 and was hoarded until recently. I bought as much as I could in China in 2014-2015, as the hoard trickled out to market. This is a particularly appealing, balanced specimen with a complete periphery and a gorgeous, translucent, thick growth. Many had damage, or were on more massive pieces of matrix. This is, for the size, particularly well shaped and elegant. This seems to have been a lost locality, and I have seen none attributed to recent collecting here.
