Wire transfers available, to set up
Cavansite is a relatively rare mineral, first described in 1967 at this locality. Examples from the type locality are quite scarce, with rich, well crystalized examples even scarcer. This wonderful thumbnail example has a dense arrangement of cavansite clusters arranged nicely with heulandite and calcite, providing sharp contrast. From the thumbnail collection of Martin C. Jensen (b. 1959) of Reno, Nevada, USA. He is not only a mineral collector, but an SEM specialist at the Mackay School of Mines, and has contributed multiple studies on localities in the western United States. The mineral species Jensenite is named in his honor. Per Martin, this was gifted to him on March 10, 1991 and later verified via SEM w/EDS by himself.
