Vivianite from the old Blackbird Mine, mostly produced in the late 1960s and into the 1970s, remains an iconic American classic. However, we seldom see any for sale. This sharp specimen features a swordlike translucent crystal, 3.7 cm tall, arising from a natural pedestal of others - shocking aesthetics for this material. Note the subtle purple tones of the crystal, grading to dark green at the base - unique color for vivianite due to trace elements found here. This is a very fine USA specimen with refined aesthetics, and the kind of thing we almost never see in person anymore. It is from a collection we purchased over 20 years ago, now come back around to market again. It comes with a custom lucite base for display.
