Superb, incredibly rich specimen of sparkling crystals of Mesolite from Sardinia. The entire display surface of this Small Cabinet piece is coated by needles, with the Mesolite ranging up to about 5 mm. Some of the matrix (and perhaps base of the darker needles) actually fluoresces a deep orange-pink. A very impressive, aesthetic Mesolite from a locality which I am unfamiliar with, admittedly. This is one of only a few such Italian pieces I have seen on the market. It was acquired by Fioravanti on a trip to Sardinia in the 1970s.
