This is an attractive specimen from one of the best known localities in the United States for garnets. This piece features a lovely, sharp, lustrous, very deep red, euhedral almandine sitting on Rhyolite matrix. The crystal has been modified and elongated during growth, and reaches an astonishing 2.2 cm across - rare size for this locale! The presentation face is resplendent, and naturally it is contacted along the back. A classic US Garnet specimen, it is aesthetic and eye-catching.
