From the best-of species finds that lasted only a few short years, in the early 2000s, here is an elegant cluster of flaring salmon-pink Olmiite crystals, together combined to make a larger composite crystals. These dramatic sheaf-like crystals are more robust, euhedral crystals than is commonly seen for the material, and the aesthetics are quite different from most other Olmiite specimens. The largest sheaf measures a full 4 cm in length! The piece has superb luster, great composition and it scintillates from the myriad of small stepped faces on each of the composite crystals. It's a very sculptural piece and in pristine condition. The matrix on the backside is a white coating of Uyelite and possibly Calcite for additional interest and contrast. From a large private collection of a former Namibian dealer, long since broken up and now recycling on the market.
