Collected in 2018 at the Christiana Mine, this is a charismatic small-cabinet specimen of gemmy Aragonite crystals, that displays very nicely. The adjoining clusters, up to about 1.5 cm individually, have a spiky surface created by the terminations of the radial Aragonite crystals. These terminations are extremely uniform, thus creating an exceptional aesthetic that only gets better the closer and closer you look. The feel of them is almost organic in some ways - think of gemmy, bright crosses between sea urchins and pineapples. To my mind, this is one of the more attractive and engaging Aragonites I have seen from this famous mining district.
