Galenas from the venerable locality of Burbach (formerly part of what was known as Hesse-Nassau) are quite scarce. To find one with this complex, flattened habit and spinel twinning takes this miniature into rarefied air. The metallic luster is good, and the sharpness of the edges and faces, particularly on the secondary crystals, is simply astonishing and special. An excellent, unique miniature of a rare Galena crystal from a very old locale. Purchased from the legendary Tucson dealer Dick Bideux in 1980. Featured in the book Collecting Classics: The Legacy of Kay Robertson (Mineralogical Record, May 2025) on page 64.
