Gem fluorites of this style are particularly rare from Mexico, and this combination with calcite and pyrite as accents really stands out among similar specimens, as a special piece - the reason it was kept in the Avila collection. The piece features a pristine, 2.1 cm, gem crystal of fluorite on matrix. The edges are wonderfully bevelled, for subtle detail. If you did not know any better, you could swear this was a Chinese fluorite from Shangbao, perhaps. That is because fine specimens like this are seldom seen today. The overall piece is bright and colorful, and the gem crystal shows off well.
