Arsenopyrite seldom crystallizes with such equant, fat 3-dimensional crystals! Since arsenopyrite is not so common from Bolivia, we do not expect anything "great" to come out of there, of all places in the world, for this species. Yet, this piece really stands out; a cluster of large, well formed, highly lustrous, silver-colored arsenopyrite crystals, to 5.2 cm in length, is associated with minor quartz. The splendent arsenopyrite crystals are nearly pristine as you turn the piece 360 degrees, and it is dramatic and geometric in a way that so few examples of this species achieve. Impressive thick crystals combined with unusual tapering form and a good display aesthetic, make this (to my mind) one of the finest examples in its size I have seen of the species. The unusual location is a bonus. Ex. Kosnar family collection (the Kosnar family has a multigenerational link to Bolivian mineral exports).
