Large Vietnam aquamarines of the style with intense color are few and far between, as most tend to be smaller to begin with, or later broken in handling. This is a huge, doubly-terminated crystal with astonishing saturated color, quite unlike the usual color you expect in a beryl. It is a supercharged blue, hard to convey in photos, but it leaps out in person. The crystal is complete, without repair, and a floater that is terminate at both ends. It has minute "etching patterns" that are mesmerizing in detail, similar to what you see on Ukrainian heliodors. From the personal beryl collection of Bill Larson (owner of Pala Intl), emphasizing aquamarines, and long on educational display in their store in Fallbrook, California. If other aquamarines in this update are blue of various tones and hues, this is simply a "supersaturated" blue most equated to synthetic glass in color, more than to other aquamarines - it is literally that much more saturated. 83 grams.
