Powellite on Stilbite

A starburst spray atop the pedestal of stilbite features several extremely gemmy, vivid honey-colored powellite crystals to 2 cm on edge. The cluster is approximately 5 x 4 cm, and has a sparkle to it rarely seen for the species. This is one of the half a dozen special pieces found in a single amazing pocket at the end of 2019. This particular specimen has the best color and gemminess of the lot, actually, although it is hard to tell this from the photos. I need to disclose that there was a small sliver of edge wear on the leftmost crystal edge, and so we tried a restoration technique used on other gemmy species of minerals to build that sliver back up. The result is a very invisible restoration, you would never know about unless I disclosed it here, that smoothed the edge. Aesthetically, for gemminess and color, this spray at the end of the matrix is perhaps the most visibly gorgeous of the lot, and a video can be provided on demand. It displays horizontally as shown, but could also be mounted vertically on a base, and even trimmed down to a full miniature by removing some of the stilbite stalk, if desired in the vertical orientation.
