Modern finds at this remote, small mine in Mexico have produced surprises over the last few years since 2015 or so. This is a beautiful and vibrant yellow La Morita Mine Wulfenite thumbnail that consists of several, tabular crystals to 1.5 cm across. The cluster is just stunning with its vivid yellow color, brilliant luster and well-formed, translucent crystals. All of the crystals have sharp, tapered edges due to pyramidal face modifications. There is good separation of the crystals in the cluster resulting in a well balanced and nicely composed thumbnail. The color on this piece is way better than the average butterscotch-yellow you usually see in these. A fantastic Wulfenite from recent discoveries here in the last several years. It is one of the finer thumbnails in my opinion, for the shocking color saturation combined with aesthetic balance, luster, and a small association with Mimetite. It is from the personal collection of a friend of ours who self-collected it and works the mine, chosen from hundreds of others he has found.
